Complex Number
Calculator

A relay engineers
dream! This calculator performs mathematical functions on complex
numbers in polar or rectangular format. Each number can be entered
in the desired format and mathematically combined with another number in
another format (ie. rectangular number + polar number).
The results are displayed in the format of the
last entered number, but can be converted to the other format if desired. |

Symmetrical Components
Calculator

This is a useful tool
which calculates the symmetrical component voltages and currents for a
given set of voltage and current inputs. The results are displayed
in both a phasor display and tabular format.
This tool also serves as a valuable training
tool for those not familiar with symmetrical components. |

Transformer Short
Circuit Calculator

|
This
tool calculates secondary side short circuit duties for
transformers. Options are included to utilize a thevenin impedance
for the source system or an infinite bus. Different winding
configurations can be selected to model the transformer of interest. |

This tool plots the
phasors for a given set of input voltages and currents. The power
quantities (MVA, MW, and MVAR) are also calculated and the power triangle
is displayed. |

This tool is used to
convert an impedance characteristic of an impedance relay to a
time-current characteristic for coordinating with overcurrent
relays. The algorithm assumes a radial source which is generally a
worst case approximation in completing coordination studies. |
